KATHMANDU, Oct 13: Nepal Orange and Nepal Grey on Tuesday recorded second win in the Super League, 50-over cricket event, being held in the capital to select players for the ICC World Cricket League Championship’s two matches against Papua New Guinea slated for October 16 and 18 in the UAE.

Nepal Orange, captained by Sharad Vesawkar, beat Nepal Green, led by Basant Regmi, by seven wickets at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground, Kirtipur to record back-to-back second win. Nepal Orange had defeated Nepal Grey by seven wickets in its opener on Sunday.
Nepal Orange, winning the toss and deciding to bowl first, restricted Nepal Green on 183 in 48.4 overs despite six batsmen scored in double digits.
Top order batsmen Anupam Singh (14 off 25) and Prithu Baskota (16 off 24) also scored in double figures for Nepal Green. Avinash conceded 40 runs in nine overs to claim three wickets, while Sandeep gave away 32 runs in 6.4 overs to bag three wickets.
In reply, Nepal Orange chased the 184 runs target in 38 overs losing three wickets after opener Subash Khakurel scored 68 runs off 95 balls and skipper Sharad Veshawkar remained not out on 44 runs facing 81 balls.
Subash shared 58 runs with Fazlur Rehman Khan (24 off 22) for the first wicket and added 89 runs with Sharad to win the match and hand Nepal Green three consecutive defeats.
Nepal Green faced 16 runs defeat against Nepal Red in its opener on Sunday and gone down by 108 runs against Nepal Grey on Monday. In another encounter at Pulchowk Engineering Ground, Nepal Grey led by Shakti Gauchan beat Nepal Blue by 10 runs.
Winning the toss and opting to bat first Nepal Grey was restricted on low score of 127 runs in 33.2 overs with an important 40 runs off 50 balls from Prakash KC and 24 runs off 26 balls by Hasim Ansari. Pradeep Airee (11 off 9) was third and last batsman to score in double digit.
Rahul Pratap Singh bagged four wickets, Mehboob Alam picked up three, Sanjam Regmi took two and Gyanendra Malla claimed one wicket to restrict Nepal Grey on low score.
However, Nepal Blue failed to meet the target being bowled out on 117 runs in 42.4 overs thought its six players contributed runs in double figures.
Nepal Blue started its run chase in disappointing manner and continued the poor performances throughout the innings.
Losing first three wickets on 19 runs till 6.2 overs, Binod Bandari (18 off 16) added 30 runs with Sanjay Basnet (22 off 39) for the fourth wicket, however that did not made any differences as Nepal Blue kept on losing wickets on regular intervals. Mehboob top scored 31 runs facing 44 balls but did work for the team.
Lalit Singh Bhandari bagged three wickets conceding 42 runs in 10 overs, Irshad Ahmed picked up two wickets as he gave away 43 runs in 8.4 overs.
On Wednesday, Nepal Orange will face Nepal Red at TU Ground.
