Teachers preparing to stage protest outside PM’s official residence arrested

KATHMANDU, August 13: Police have arrested dozens of agitating teachers who were gathered at Tangal High School to protest outside the official residence of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba in Baluwatar to exert pressure on the government to meet their 34-point demands.

KATHMANDU, August 13: Police have arrested dozens of agitating teachers who were gathered at Tangal High School to protest outside the official residence of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba in Baluwatar to exert pressure on the government to meet their 34-point demands. 


According to leader MP Bhusal, the police had arrested the teachers from the school. Earlier, the agitating teachers had announced to stage the demonstration outside the PM’s official residence in Baluwatar. Police arrested them during their fourth demonstration to put forward their demands.

Police have also arrested the Senior Vice-President of the Nepal Teachers Association, Bhusal said. He said that as many as 150 teachers have been taken under control by the police.


The teachers have been continuously staging protests to draw attention of the government to meet their demands.
