Adhikari, who is also the president of district teachers´ association, said that the Maoists have targeted the teachers. [break]
The team has also sought help from Nepal Human Rights Association on Friday. Adhikari said the team will not return till their security is guaranteed.
Last Friday Maoist cadres had attacked Nepali Congress cadres over the latter´s appointment in the management committee of the school. The school is currently closed for summer holidays.
Stating that the school will re-open after a month, Adhikari said, “We hope that the dispute settles soon, otherwise it will hamper students´ studies.”
The Gorkha secretary of NC, Kiranbabu Shrestha, on the other hand, has warned the Maoists not to take the party´s patience as weakness. “We want to settle the issues through talks,” Shrestha said.
The Gorkha Congress has claimed that over 60 of its activists were beaten up by the Maoists after the Constituent Assembly election.
