BIRGUNJ, April 23: A group of teachers have beaten up their colleague in Birgunj on Thursday alleging that he did not support their ongoing stir. The group led by co-chairman of Institutional Schools Teachers Union (ISTU) Rabindra Singh manhandled Ramesh Sharma at local Gautam Secondary School. Sharma, who was beaten up near Power House Chowk, is currently undergoing treatment at Narayani Sub-Regional Hospital, Birgunj.

The ISTU has been shutting down over 150 institutional schools in Parsa district for the last one week protesting against the beating up of a teacher Ranjan Ale Magar. Sonam Lama, a management committee member of Gautam Secondary School, had beaten him up last week.
