GORKHA, July 3: Two teachers were arrested for physically assaulting  two police constables.  Ram Sharan Pokharel and Rameswar Pokharel from   Chhoprak Siranchok Rural Municipality-4 were arrested for hitting the policemen with stones after consuming alcohol.  

When the Pokharel brothers fell from their motorcycle on their way home, the policemen tried to help them but the brothers assaulted them. According to the police, Ram Sharan teaches at Shree Mandali Secondary School and Rameshwar teaches at Ratna Rajya Secondary School. According to DSP Lila Raj Lamichhane, a case was filed against them for committing an offense against public peace on Sunday.

Police Constable Ananta Bahadur Rokka and Police Head Constable Arjun Bahadur Sen were injured in the incident. Rokka has sustained head and face injuries. DSP Lamichhane said that he is undergoing further treatment at Chitwan Medical College after a first-aid treatment at Gorkha Hospital.

The condition of Police Constable Rokka is stable.
