TBAN team off to Thailand to study Kathmandu-Bangkok road connectivity

KATHMANDU, June 28: A team of the Tourist Bus Association of Nepal (TBAN) has departed for Thailand to study road connectivity between Nepal’s Kathmandu and Thailand’s Bangkok.


An 18-member team departed for Thailand today under the leadership of Krishna Archarya, president of TBAN. The team is scheduled to organize a program there to discuss the operation of a tourist bus service from Thailand to Kathmandu with tourism entrepreneurs and the government.

TBAN President Archarya said that a discussion on tourism promotion in Cambodia is also scheduled. He said that such a visit would help to achieve the government’s target of bringing in 1.6 million tourists next year.


TBAN is currently transporting domestic and foreign tourists to various tourist destinations of Nepal through tourist buses. The distance between Kakarbhitaa and Bangkok of Thailand is 3,377 km. One can reach Nepal from Bangkok, Thailand border via Myanmar, Bangladesh and India through the Kakarbhitta border point.
