Taxi falls into ditch, cabbie says 'God saved him'

KATHMANDU, May 11: A taxi bearing registration number Ba 1 Ja, 6833, met with an accident after it, all of a sudden fell into a ditch at Bagdol Chock of Lalitpur District on Sunday night. After the accident taxi turned upside down.

According to Traffic Police Inspector Sita Ram Hathechu, taxi fell down into the ditch that was unearthed for Ring Road widening purpose.


Chinese contractor company has been working for the widening of the road in the area.

Taxi driver Dambar Shrestha said that contractors flaw caused the incident as they had no under construction signal in the area.

"I was driving my taxi slowly, the road was firm from where I left,but all of a sudden, in the middle I fell into the ditch, said Shrestha, " god saved me, avoiding exceptional loss of life," added he.

However, Shrestha sustained injuries in different parts of his body.
