CA Chairman Subas Nembang will facilitate the meetings and officials at the CA secretariat will assist the taskforce in preparing its report.
"The taskforce will iron out the differences that have surfaced among the parties in connection with writing the new constitution," Maoist leader Narayankaji Shrestha told reporters after the meeting convened by Nembang.
The taskforce has been given October 24 as the deadline for submitting its report to the 27-party meeting that will endorse the recommendations.
The Preliminary Draft Reports Study Committee of the CA has identified and prepared a list of around 225 contentious issues. Nembang, after receiving the list, convened the meeting of PP leaders as the Interim Constitution has a provision under which the chairman can convene such a meeting to settle disputes.
Leaders said they agreed to form the taskforce as the 27-party meeting could not reach any conclusion. According to leaders involved in the meeting, the taskforce will shorten the long list of disputes.
Some of the leaders were for forwarding the list to the Constitutional Committee which is entrusted with preparing an integrated draft of the constitution comprising all the ll thematic reports. But the leaders finally decided to narrow down the differences beforehand, thinking that sorting out a list of over 200 issues by vote would be impractical.
