KATHMANDU, July 1: A task force has been established to address issues concerning transitional justice in Nepal. Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli, and Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba reached an agreement on Thursday to finalize these issues.
Following the agreement, a task force was formed on Sunday, comprising one representative from each of the three parties. The task force, including NC Chief Whip Ramesh Lekhak, UML Chief Whip Mahesh Bartaula, and Maoist Center Deputy General Secretary Janardan Sharma, is tasked with drafting a proposal for the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) Bill.

UML Chief Whip Bartaula said that the task force's mandate includes preparing a proposal addressing unresolved issues and presenting it to the party leadership. The task force will engage in discussions to reconcile differing viewpoints from previous drafts in order to achieve consensus on the proposed bill.
Upon the completion of thorough deliberations, the task force will submit its comprehensive proposal to the top leadership for further consideration.
