Talks to end strikes at Chameliya fail

KATHMANDU, Dec 30: Talks between the Chinese management and Nepali workers, initiated to end weeklong strike launched by the Nepali workers at the construction site of Chameliya hydroelectricity project in Darchula district, couldn´t make headway, on Monday.


Avenues Television reported that the strike continues to hamper construction works of the 30-MW project, which began two years ago. The Chinese firm, Gejuwa, is the contractor of the project.
