Officials from the NTA, along with representatives from affiliated teacher organizations, are also present in today’s meeting. The talks held on Tuesday, which lasted till late night, ended on a positive note.

Both sides have indicated that they will finalize the agreement today. NTA General Secretary Tula Bahadur Thapa, stated that Tuesday’s talks were positive and that today’s discussions are expected to be even more meaningful.

Efforts are underway to reach an agreement on the nine-point proposal submitted by the NTA.  If today's talks result in an agreement, the government will make a decision through a cabinet meeting. Since April 2, the NTA has been staging protests in Kathmandu while continuing parallel dialogue with the government. Previous rounds of talks at different levels had ended without resolution.

If an agreement is reached between the government and the NTA, teachers are expected to return to schools from Thursday, restoring a normal academic environment.
