KATHMANDU, June 4: After a decade-long hiatus, the Nepali national cricket team is set to compete in the T20 World Cup today.

Nepal last participated in the T20 World Cup in 2014 in Bangladesh, igniting nationwide cricket enthusiasm.

This year, the World Cup in America and the West Indies has drawn significant global attention.

Under Captain Rohit Kumar Paudel, Nepal is making a strong comeback with Sompal Kami as the only player from the 2014 squad.

Despite limited structural improvements in Nepali cricket, the players' dedication has brought them back to the World Cup stage.

Nepal’s first match is against the Netherlands tonight at 9:15 PM at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, USA, marking the start of their Group D journey.

Captain Paudel emphasized readiness and the importance of fan support, hoping to inspire future cricketers. Clear weather is forecast for the match.
