KATHMANDU, Oct 16: Nepali swimming team is set to leave for Sri Lanka on Tuesday to take part in the South Asian Aquatic Championship 2016 that is set to begin from October 19-22 in Colombo.
The six-member Nepali team consists of four players including Nitesh Manandhar, Debesh Manandhar, Anubhav Subba and Subham Shrestha and two officials -- head coach Ongden Lama and team manager Parash Shrestha.
Nitesh will take part in 50 m and 100 m freestyle, 200 m breaststroke and 50 m backstroke events while Debesh will participate in 50 m, 100 m, 200 m and 400 m freestyle, 50 m butterfly, 50 m, 100 m and 200 m backstroke and 200 m individual medley events.
Similarly, Anubhav will vie in 50 m, 100 m and 400 m freestyle, 100 m butterfly, 50 m, 100 m and 200 m backstroke and 200 m individual medley events. Another participant Subham will take part in 50 m freestyle, 50 m, 100 m and 200 m breaststroke events.
Ashok Bajracharya, president of Nepal Swimming Association, bade farewell to the Colombo-bound team on Sunday.
