Surkhet, Kathmandu record big wins

NAWALPARASI/HETAUDA, Oct 21: Surkhet and Kathmandu recorded thumping victories in the Ncell 15th National Women´s Football Tourunament on Monday.



Geeta Rana Magar scored five goals as Surkhet thrashed Udayapur 10-0 at the Kirtipur Ground in Sunawal, Nawalparasi. Rana Magar scored in the fifth, 14th, 27th, 41st and 79th minutes of the match. Punam Thapa scored a brace and Srijana Singh, Bindu Rana Magar and Mamata Rai added a goal each to complete the rout.[break]



Likewise, Kathmandu crushed Saptari 12-0 at the National Sports Academy Ground in Gauritar, Makawanpur. Amrita Rai scored the opener in the fourth minute for Kathmandu, which completely dominated the match. Elisa Shah scored four goals. She scored in the seventh, 24th and 61st minutes to complete a hat-trick and added one more in the 70th minute. Rabina Gurung and Baby Gurung scored a brace each. Radhika Shakya, Muna Tamang and Laxmi Lama were also on target for Kathmandu.



Meanwhile, the match between Makawanpur and Dolakha in Gauritar was stopped due to bad light after the regulation time ended in a 2-2 draw. According to the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), the winner of the match will be decided after conducting extra time on Tuesday morning and then tiebreaker if needed.



Bardiya takes on Morang and Bara faces Ilam on Tuesday in Sunawal, Nawalparasi. Similarly, Banke plays against Sunsari and Jhapa takes on Dhanusha in Gauritar, Makawanpur.
