KATHMANDU, Sept 15: The District Administration Office (DAO), Surkhet, has directed the internet service providers (ISPs) to remove the tangled and unmanaged internet and cable network wires from the electricity and telecom poles within seven days.
Stating that unorganized and unnecessary wires have diminished the beauty of Birendranagar and caused accidents, the administration has directed the companies to remove such wires and manage them underground. It has been requested to coordinate with Nepal Electricity Authority and Nepal Telecom to remove low-hanging, loose, unused wires and connect new wires.
A meeting chaired by Chief District Officer Chhavilal Rijal on the management of internet and cable network wires has directed the Telecom and NEA to immediately manage the unused, damaged and abandoned poles left on the road.
Likewise, the meeting has directed a team led by Nepal Telecom Surkhet Office and representatives of DAO, NEA, Postal Directorate and service providers to monitor the situation and submit a report.
