Keeping in mind the examination of class 12 that started Wednesday, the banda program was put off, said banda organizer, Tharu Welfare Council (TWC), Kanchanpur.
The Council, issuing a press release here today, demanded the unconditional release of TWC coordinator Laxman Tharu, including all other detainees in course of demonstrating protest.
Meanwhile, an all-side assembly is going to be held in Birendranagar on Thursday to forge consensus to declare Surkhet a banda-free district.
The assembly to be held on the initiative of Surkhet Chamber of Commerce and Industry will declare Surkhet a strike-free district, said Chamber Chairperson Bishnu Bahadur Shahi.
