MAHOTTARI, Dec 8: Sunaina Thakur has won the 2016 Common Ground Award for her contribution in promoting Mithila Art in the southern parts of the country. Sunaina of Jaleshwar municipality, Mahottari received the award recently at a special function in New York.
Elated on winning the international award, 32-year-old Sunaina has planned to establish a training center to teach local females to paint Mithila arts. She said she also wants to publish books so that general people can learn about
Mithila arts.
