KATHMANDU, June 19: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Sujata Koirala on Tuesday stressed the need for holding NC General Convention at the earliest following its Mahasamiti meeting.
"Problems have emerged when leadership failed to take up responsibility for party's defeat in the recent past elections. NC has appeared a weaker opposition for its failure to discuss the issues within the party that are to be raised in the Parliament," she said speaking at a face-to-face at Reporter's Club in the Capital.
Stressing the need for breaking factionalism within the party, she viewed that authoritarian attitude and style would not augur well to the party.
Koirala, also former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, said the incumbent government should focus on implementing the agreements reached between Nepal and China in the past.
