KATHMANDU, Aug 14: Kamal Bahadur Shah, the newly-appointed chief minister (CM) of Sudurpaschim Province, is seeking a vote of confidence in the provincial assembly on Wednesday.
He had already sent a letter to the Province Assembly Secretariat on Monday to make arrangements for the vote of confidence.
Shah was appointed the CM of Sudurpaschim with the support of the CPN-UML, Nepali Congress (NC) and Nagarik Unmukti Party on August 10. The provincial assembly has 53 members, and to form a simple majority government, the CM needs the support of 27 members.
There are 18 members from the NC, 11 each from the Maoist Center and the UML, seven from Nagarik Unmukti Party, four from the Unified Socialist, one from Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) and one independent member.
Among these parties, 18 members from the NC, 11 from the UML and seven from the Nagarik Unmukti Party will vote in favor of Chief Minister Shah.
