Sub-committee sorts out 30 issues

KATHMANDU, March 9: The sub-committee under the Constitutional Committee on Tuesday sorted out 30 contentious issues related to constitution writing, leaving only 45 issues to be settled by the sub-committee now.



According to Nepali Congress leader Ram Chandra Paudel, the sub-committee headed by Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal agreed not to retain the provision of automatic restoration of a dissolved parliament if elections are not held on a designated date. [break]



The 30 issues are related to other contentious agendas such as state restructuring, system of governance and system of election.



The sub committee is meeting on Thursday to take contentious issues related to the judicial system.



Besides Dahal and Paudel, Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal and Chairman of Madhesi People´s Rights Forum Upendra Yadav were present at the meeting.



As former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal could not attend the meeting as he is out of the country.
