Unlike most of us who struggle to look all put together, Chapagain states that she does not find it hard to be stylish on the go. She sticks to loose fit and comfortable clothing and insists that baggy clothes don’t necessarily mean you look shabby.

While traveling is an enjoyable, fun, and interesting experience, it can dishevel your appearance at times. When we travel we don’t necessarily think about looking our best. But blogger and Instagrammer Anusmriti Chapagain is somebody who is very mindful of looking her best even when she is traveling.

Chapagain, a 24-year-old BBS graduate from Capital College and Research Center, runs two Instagram pages. The first one with the handle @heyitsanoo is her primary account that boasts an impressive 10,000 plus followers. You will find various #OOTD, beauty and fashion related posts here. She is also constantly updating stories on this account with important things that happen throughout the day.

The second account under the handle @travelwithanoo is the one she uses to showcase pretty landscape pictures and any other aesthetic picture she captures during her trips. She also has a YouTube channel and her blog, The Blueberry, is something she updates frequently. If you log onto it, you will find many posts about fashion and styling that can really teach you a thing or two about looking good while out exploring the world.

Although she has been Instagram blogging for almost three years now, Chapagain did not really start it with the intention of becoming a fashion blogger. “I use to tag brands – that produced the outfits I was wearing – on my pictures and posted a lot of outfit pictures. I started gaining followers consistently then and this one time when I was out with my family, a cousin claimed she really liked my style of Instagram blogging,” says Chapagain. Although, at the time, she refuted her cousin’s claim about her being an Instagram blogger, that comment gave her the idea of becoming a fashion blogger.

Since then, Chapagain has been actively working to establish herself as a prominent fashion blogger in Nepal. She opened her blog last year and is constantly searching for new, fun, and creative content to update it. She reveals that she has also worked as a stylist and social media influencer at three different clothing stores in Nepal.

Although Chapagain claims that the blogging industry is growing in Nepal, she is quick to point out that it will still take quite a few years for majority of the people here to consider it as a ‘serious’ career. She states that even now there are times when she can’t fully explain what she does to other people.

Another big problem Chapagain faces is the lack of places where she can take good pictures. Chapagain claims that there are very few places where she can hold a photo shoot. And at places like malls you apparently need a permit to take professional pictures with an actual camera and that, according to Chapagain, is quite troublesome.

Despite of not following a fixed and definitive theme, Chapagain does admit that she always ponders if the picture she is about to upload on her Instagram actually complements the aesthetic she has going on there. She names VSCO Cam, Lightroom, and Snapseed as her go to editing apps.

As for her handle, Chapagain claims she picked ‘heyitsanoo’ because it was something she found cool yet casual and her real name would have been quite long to actually use as a username. “Sometimes people actually think my name is Sano and are quite surprised when I tell them my real name,” she states.

In her free time, Chapagain can be found jamming to her favorite songs or immersed in novels. Recently, she has picked up another activity that she genuinely enjoys, which is working out.

Although traveling and exploring the world are some things that have always fascinated Chapagain, it has not been long since she started investing in this hobby. Some places she has been to that left a lasting impression on her are Malaysia, Mustang, and Thailand. She actually loved her experience in Thailand so much that she revisited the country a few months ago. She reveals that Bali is a destination she really wants to visit but has not been able to, with Rara Lake rounding up as a close second.

Unlike most of us who struggle to look all put together, Chapagain states that she does not find it hard to be stylish on the go. She sticks to loose fit and comfortable clothing and insists that baggy clothes don’t necessarily mean you look shabby. Chapagain, who finds inspiration in Californian blogger Brittany Xavier, claims that her personal style ventures more into the edgy and bold but comfortable side and that she would pick boots and sneakers over heels any day. She is also into airport fashion and reveals that, although it is not something everyone likes doing, she finds it to be quite fun.

Chapagain’s first look is pretty bold and eye catching. The leopard print fur coat that she has thrown over her outfit stands out prominently because of the monochromatic palette of the black leather tights and grey top she has underneath it. Also, the touch of red provided by the ankle boots, sunglasses, and beret frame introduces a pop of color without overdoing it. This is a great look for colder weather that makes you look put together and is warm and cozy at the same time.

Go-to airport look

Chapagain reveals that she is someone who gets cold pretty quickly – especially in an airplane – so she likes layering things like a jacket or a coat while heading to the airport. Something like a wide leg trousers paired with cropped denim jacket, basic tees, or camisoles make up an ideal airport outfit for her. Another example of her ideal airport outfit would be a pair of jeans and leather jacket with a basic tee underneath. Or even a trench coat and jeans with a pair of mules adorning her feet would work just fine.

For people who don’t get cold so easily, Chapagain suggests wearing shorts since they are comfortable, versatile, and look good with anything. Another combination that she really likes is the classic denim on denim. She also finds that leggings look cute when worn with a leather jacket.

This one of Chapagain’s favorite casual looks to style. She claims that when you are traveling, you have to be mindful about how comfortable your clothes are, and this outfit is easy to style and comfortable to walk around in. For people who don’t find skirts comfortable, she suggests replacing it with shorts or leggings. As for footwear, Chapagain claims anything from sneakers and boots to sandals can be worn with this outfit. She has also tied a bandana around her neck as a form of a laidback accessory but states that you can ditch the bandana and instead opt for cute earrings if that works for you.

On Chapagain’s carry on

The first thing Chapagain mentions that is in her carry on is her earphones. A self proclaimed music fanatic, Chapagain says that since she has aviophobia, she tries her best to be as distracted from her surroundings as possible when she is in an airplane. And although she likes having her headphones in her carry on, sometimes there is not enough space for it there. As Chapagain is frequently accompanied by her husband when she is traveling, they also binge watch their favorite movies and shows that they download onto their laptops beforehand. Sometimes, she also carries magazines and books to flip through. A pair of sunglasses is another item that Chapagain never forgets to put in her carry on bag.

If you are going hiking or doing some other touristy stuff that requires a lot of physical activity, this might be the perfect outfit for you. It’s very basic yet stylish. The loose cargo pants, fanny pack, sneakers, and the plain white tee are essential staple items that are not that impressive on their own. But the way Chapagain has styled them together is on point and each element involved in this look plays out the other items really well. Chapagain claims that the cat eye sunglasses she is rocking with this outfit are one of her favorite accessories in her wardrobe as it goes well with almost all kinds of outfits.
