Students shut Lahan

LAHAN, Aug 29: Students in Lahan enforced a strike on Saturday morning after Krishna Dev Gupta, a fellow student, was killed by a speeding truck on the east-west highway.



Ward Police Office of Lahan, Siraha, informed that Gupta (18), a 11th grader at Royal Softech Higher Secondary School, died on the spot.



Irate students burned tires on the highway and obstructed vehicular movement. Students claimed that the driver backed the truck and killed Gupta. They are demanding compensation for Gupta´s family and martyrdom for Gupta.



Police have arrested the driver and impounded the truck.
