LAMJUNG (Besisahar), Feb 27: A dialogue between students representing two unions descended into a street battle this morning at the Lamjung Campus Institute of Agriculture and Animal Science (IAAS) in Sundar Bazaar.
The clash between the students affiliated to Nepal Student Union (NSU) and All Nepal National Free Student Union (ANNFSU) comes in the run up to the Free Student Union (FSU) polls. The scuffle subsided after leaving three NSU students and a police official with injuries.
Sundar Bazaar Area Police Office Chief, Sub Inspector of Police, Homnath Adhikari, was injured while trying to contain the clash.
NSU's Dipendra Regmi reportedly sustained serious injuries during the clash which also left Lamjung Campus Chief, Lila Prasad Amgain, with minor bruises.
The students of the UML aligned ANNFSU on Sunday padlocked the campus expressing dissatisfaction with the FSU election process.
The scuffle ensued when the students from both unions were holding dialogue to reopen the campus. The police force has been beefed up in the campus area with the dispatch of additional teams from Besisahar, Chief District Officer, Mohan Bahadur GC said. RSS
