Student bodies continue protest Karki as CIAA chief

KATHMANDU, May 7: Various student organizations have continued to protest the constitutional council (CC)’s decision to recommend former chief secretary Lokman Singh Karki for the post of Chief of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Tuesday as well.



Different student organizations including All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU) affiliated to CPN-UML , Nepal Student Union (NSU) affiliated to Nepali Congress, ALL Nepal National Independent Students Union (ANNISU)-Revolutionary affiliated to CPN-Maoist and others are chanting slogans in front to various government campuses in Kathmandu valley protesting the decision.



According to Traffic police office, students have gathered in front of various campuses including Ratna Rajya Laxmi, Tahachal and Tri-Chandra campuses demanding immediate withdrawal of the decision. Traffic movement  have been badly disrupted due to the protest in various areas.
