The Laxman Tharu-led FDN party has called for the bandh to be effective Wednesday in Tharuhat, Tamsaling, Limbuwan and Khumbuwan regions[break].
As a result, schools, factories and transportation service remains affected since early this morning in this part of the country.
Likewise, in Udayapur, all passenger buses operating in the long and short routes from Ghaighat have been confined to their garage, leaving many passengers stranded.
Some schools running classes in the morning due to the heat however have opened, as not many people were aware of the bandh called for today.
Also today, the examinees attending the compartmental School Leaving Certificate (SLC) examination have also been affected by the strike. As all the examination centres are based in the district headquarters, students had to face a lot of problem reaching to their respective centre due to lack of transportation.
Similarly, in Chitwan, very few vehicles were seen plying on the road this morning.
As part of the protest program, the party is also staging a sit-in at the district headquarters including Chitwan later in the day, Chitwan Coordinator of the Party, Raj Kumar Tamang said.
Reports have also been received from Bhadrapur, Makwanpur, Ilam and Dang of the strike affecting daily public life.
