KATHMANDU, August 2: Street vendors have started removing their shops from the New Baneshwor area of Kathmandu. After the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) issued a notice not to use the footpath area for business, parking and other purposes, the footpath business has started to disappear.
Although the problem of footpath business has been reduced, the problem of haphazard parking remains as it was. With the removal of the footpath business, it has become easier for the general public to walk. However, the problem of parking is still intact, which has not made it completely easier for pedestrians.
In order to solve the problem of parking, the metropolis has instructed everyone concerned to remove shops from the underground parking as well.
