BARA, March 31: According to latest reports, strong storm and lightning have killed at least 25 people leaving 400 injured in Bara and Parsa on Sunday evening.
24 people were killed in Bara alone and 1 person killed in Parsa, according to secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs Prem Kumar Rai.

In a Tweet, Prime Minister KP Oli has expressed sorrow over the loss of the lives.
Earlier, DSP Hem Bahadur Shahi of Bara Police Office, informed Republica online that the disaster has claimed one life in Telkuwa, five in Bhulai, one in Koi Swarna, seven in Pheta Purainiya, two in Hardiya, two in Parshurampur and four in Dharmanagar.

Similarly, one succumbed to injuries in Birgunj Sub-Regional Hospital during the treatment, he informed.
The injured have been rushed to local hospital and Birgunj, he said adding that the number of death might increase. The local and security personnel are engaged in rescue work.
