“Education is a parameter for development. Through this competition we want to show the public what young filmmakers perceive about education,” says Kamal Prasad Khanal who is the Assistant Director at KIMFF.[break]
The interpretation of education has been kept open for the youth. “We’re looking for creative and innovative stories which bring out the diversity within the issue,” adds Khanal.
Youth within the age of 30 years are eligible to enter this competition by submitting short films of no longer than five minutes to KIMFF by November 20. Entry is free of cost for participants.
“A three-member jury of education experts and filmmakers will be judging the entries,” informed Khanal.
Three entries will be selected as the best films and will be awarded cash prizes of Rs. 75,000 as the first prize and Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 35,000 as second and third prizes respectively.
The top ten films in the competition will also be screened at KIMFF 2012 (December 7-11) and will be broadcast on television.
