KATHMANDU, Jan 3: A Standing Committee meeting of the Dahal-Nepal faction of the ruling Nepal Communist party (NCP) is currently underway at Parisdanda, Koteshwar, in the capital.
The meeting which began at 1 PM today is reviewing the ongoing agitation launched by the faction against the government's move to dissolve the House of Representatives. Earlier on Saturday, the faction announced its second phase of agitation against the dissolution of parliament.
NCP Standing Committee meeting underway, PM Oli is absent
The Standing Committee meeting will also discuss future strategies of the faction after the ruling party witnessed a vertical split almost two weeks ago. The meeting will also discuss picking a general secretary of the faction.
The meeting is expected to finalize leadership at the district and provincial levels of the faction.
After the split in the party, the Oli-led faction has already finalized its leadership at the provincial level.
