KATHMANDU, Dec 30: The standing committee meeting of Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Madhav Kumar Nepal faction of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) is underway.
The rival faction had staged a nation-wide protest against the House dissolution on Tuesday. The meeting being held today is expected to announce the second phase of nation-wide protest against the dissolution of parliament.

The Dahal-Nepal faction is set to organize a press conference about the decision made by the Standing Committee meeting at 3 PM later this afternoon.
The rival faction within NCP has been demanding restoration of the lower house stating that the move of the Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli is against the constitution of Nepal.
Following the dissolution of the lower house, protests and demonstrations have erupted across the country against Oli’s move.
