Likewise, NMB Bank, Citizen Bank, Century Bank, Nepal Bank, Bank of Asia and Kantipur Media Group secured their berths in the quarterfinal of the tournament on Wednesday.
NMB edged past Civil Bank by 27 runs. Rabindra Chand´s unbeaten 31 runs along with Mohan KC´s unbeaten 21 runs helped NMB to 76/0 in five overs after electing to bat. In reply, Civil reached 49/4 in five overs as Dipesh Shrestha claimed two wickets.
Citizen Bank beat Nabil Bank by 25 runs. Citizen put up 84/0 in five overs as Amit Khanal contributed unbeaten 28 runs and Sushant Pant added unbeaten 25 runs. Nabil reached only 59/2 in five overs.
Century Bank thrashed Surya Nepal by four wickets to reach the last eight. Surya Nepal elected to bat and put up only 47/6 in five overs as Bikash Shrestha took three wickets for Century. In reply, Century met the target in three overs losing only two wickets.
Meanwhile, Nepal Bank thrashed Sunrise Bank by six wickets. Chasing a 45-run target, Nepal Bank reached 50/0 in three overs. Shanta Bahadur Shah scored unbeaten 31 runs and Samir Giri and Sushil Karki took two wickets each to script the victory for Nepal Bank.
In the six-a-side cricket tournament dominated by private banks, Bank of Asia crushed Siddharth Bank by six wickets. Electing to field, Bank of Asia restricted Siddharth Bank to 37 runs in five overs as Amit Shrestha took two wickets and successfully chased the target in 3.1 overs without losing a wicket. Diwash Singh Thakuri was the top scorer of the match with unbeaten 20 runs.
In a well-contested pre-quarterfinal match, Kantipur Media Group beat KIST Bank by five runs. Kantipur put up 83/0 in five overs as Suraj Singh Thakuri scored unbeaten 33 runs and Bhusan Yadav added unbeaten 27 runs. In reply, KIST fell five-run short of the target. KIST reached 78/3 in five overs despite Raju KC´s contribution of unbeaten 35 runs.
In the last group stage match of the tournament, India Embassy defeated KIST Bank by nine runs to become the winner of the group H. India Embassy will take on Sanima Bank in the pre-quarterfinal match on Thursday.
