The popular football tournament was interrupted due to financial problems. The tournament had come to a halt since 2008. Altogether eleven teams from Nepal and one team from Bangladesh will participate in the tournament.
The inaugural match will be played between Rupandehi XI and Sahara Club Pokhara.
President of the organizing committee Hari Shrestha said the winners of the tournament will be awarded cash prize worth Rs 155,555 and the runners-up will receive Rs 77,777.
Kayastha takes lead
Madan Krishna Kayastha took lead after the completion of the fifth round in the First Khowpa Invitational FIDE Rating Chess Tournament in Bhaktapur. Kayastha got 4.5 points as he defeated U-19 Nepal champion Nikesh Duwal in the third round and Damodar Gainju in the fifth round.
Kayastha played draw against Prajjwalraj Rajopadhyay in the fourth round. Krishna Bahadur Duwal, Bikash Kuluju and Rajopadhyay are in the second position with four points.
