W Cup tickets sale begin
The sale of tickets of the final match of World Cup Football to be shown in six different big screens at the Dasharath Stadium has begun from Thursday. The tickets are available at the Dasharath Stadium and Nanglo Bakery Café of Bhatbhateni, Tindhara, Jawalakhel and Boudha. Only 8,000 tickets are available for sale according to the organizers Growth Sellers Consultancy Pvt Ltd and Nepal National and International Players Association. To make the show more entertaining various events like Six-A-Side Football, musical programs, will also be conducted from 20:00 NST. The final match is scheduled to begin at 00:15 NST on Sunday.
Gyalgen Lama Award announced
A website dedicated to Nepali football goalnepal.com has decided to set up an award in commemoration of late Gyalgen Lama. The Gyalgen Lama Award will be given to the promising player (U-19) of the year. Lama had succumbed to death due to sudden cardiac arrest while playing Inter School Football Tournament on Monday. The award will carry a purse of Rs 5,000 and a trophy engraved with Lama´s name. Meanwhile, goalnepal.com has collected a fund of more than Rs 20,000 for Lama. “The money will be handed over to Lama´s family on 13th day ritual of Lama´s death,” stated CEO of goalnepal.com Bikram Thapa. Nepal Football Players Association is also assisting the site to collect relief fund.
Inter-school football
Mahendra Bhrikuti High School on Thursday defeated Nepal Rastriya Higher Secondary School 4-0 in the Coca Cola Cup Inter-school Boy´s National Football Tournament at the Sano Gaucharan ground. Nible defeated Danfe 3-2 and Gambhir Samundra Setu defeated Kantipur 3-2 in tiebreaker after the regulation time ended in a 2-2 draw. Likewise, Budhanilkantha thrashed Nil Barahai 5-1. In other matches held at Chyasal ground, Gyan Bigyan, Purano Guheshwori, and VS Niketan emerged victorious.
