Meanwhile, Kavre Volleyball Club defeated Bhim Dutta Puche Bungmati 25-8, 25-8, 25-13 in straight sets in the Third Sabhapati Cup National Open Men´s Volleyball Tournament.
Jwala, Trimurti victorious
NEPALGUNJ: Jwala Sports Club and Trimurti Sports Club registered victories in the Nagarik T20 Cricket Tournament on Tuesday. Jwala beat Mongolian Sports Club by 14 runs while Trimurti defeated Idgaha Cricket Club by four wickets. After being invited to bat first, Jwala scored 179 runs losing six wickets in the regular 20 overs. Sunil Sunar´s 43 runs and Rakesh Rawal´s 36 runs guided Jwala to a big total. In reply, Mongolian were bowled out in 19 overs with 165 runs on board. Anuj Bahadur Malla took four wickets of Mongolian while Binay Shrestha took three wickets. Meanwhile, Karamat Khan completed a hat-trick and Dhirendra Chaudhary also took three wickets as Trimurti restricted Idgaha to 122 runs. Trimurti met the target in 16.1 overs losing six wickets. Yuvraj Kashyap and Deepak Singh remained unbeaten on 27 and 19 runs, respectively.
New Vision, Baluwatar win
KATHMANDU: New Vision Club and Baluawatar Cricket Club won their respective matches on Tuesday in the Kathmandu District Senior T20 Selection Cricket Tournament held at TU Cricket grounds. New Vision beat Mahavir Club by six wickets and Baluwatar thrashed Mahavir by 94 runs in another match of the day. Opting to bat first Mahavir garnered 128/6 against New Vision after winning the toss. In reply, New Vision scored 132/4 with two overs to spare. The man-of-the-match Kiran Budhamagar topscored with unbeaten 70 runs for the winning side. In another match, Baluwatar made a huge total of 190/6 after they won the toss and elected to bat first. The man-of-the-match adjudged Rupesh Shrivastav hammered 68 off 36 for Baluawatar. Following the run chase, Mahavir could manage only 96 runs losing all wickets with two balls to spare.
Transplant sports to kick off in New Year
KATHMANDU: Second Nepal Organ Transplant Sports Tournament is set to be held at Dasharath Stadium and Army Officers Club on the new year´s day. The tournament is being organized in order to create awareness about organ transplants. The patients who have undergone organ transplant surgery will participate in 100m and 400m race Thursday morning. Besides the race, they will also play a friendly football match with the doctors. Two winners of this edition will compete in World Transplant Sports Tournament to be held at Switzerland in 2012 while last edition´s winners will be sent to Sweden to participate in the global tournament in June this year.
