Special police team deployed to arrest JSP leader Ashok Yadav ‘likely hiding in India’

According to Madhesh Province Police Chief DIG Uma Prasad Chaturvedi, an arrest warrant has been issued by the court, and a search operation is actively underway. Police sources suspect that Yadav may have already fled to India.

SARLAHI, July 6: Ashok Kumar Yadav, Madhesh Province Chief of the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) led by Ashok Rai, has gone into hiding after verbally abusing Chief of District Police Office, Sarlahi, SP Yogendra Kumar Khadka in a phone call that went viral on social media.


According to Madhesh Province Police Chief DIG Uma Prasad Chaturvedi, an arrest warrant has been issued by the court, and a search operation is actively underway. Police sources suspect that Yadav may have already fled to India.

“We are conducting searches at multiple locations. He will soon be brought under police custody,” DIG Chaturvedi said.


Following the public release of the audio clip on Thursday night, a special police team has been deployed to apprehend Yadav. The Madhesh Province Police Office confirmed that the court approved the warrant under two charges: obstruction of public service and public disturbance.


The case has sparked strong reactions, as it involves the use of offensive language against a senior police officer. Authorities are intensifying efforts to locate and arrest Yadav at the earliest.
