"The program was fixed long ago. But we have decided skip the program in view of the new political development in Nepal," said Mahat. "Working at home on the peace process is more important than attending the seminar at this crucial time."
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal, who is also the Chairman of the Special Committee, has directed the committee members not to leave Kathmandu in his bid to expedite the works of the government-formed committee. The prime minister, according to Thapa, has called a meeting of the Special Committee for Thursday.
"He is making preparations to present a concrete proposal on the peace process at the Special Committee meeting," said Surya Thapa, prime minister´s press advisor.
In the meantime, in latest development taking the peace process forward, the secretariat under the Special Committee has begun training 126 arms and army monitors who will be deployed at the satellite cantonments from Wednesday and the situation center, meant to serve reporting center for monitors in the field, has come into operation from this week.
