The Spanish Embassy in New Delhi and the Honorary Consul in Nepal are jointly organizing the Spanish Film fiesta.[break]
Having come back together after two years, the embassy and consulate wish to promote and share with the people of Nepal Spain’s beautiful culture and society. The idea is to bring the societies and the people closer and to share with them various aspects of filmmaking in Spain. After all, movies and documentaries have always been a relevant medium to understand and exchange diverse ideas.
Ay, Carmella!, directed by Carlos Saura, is story about a wandering trio of comedians during the Spanish Civil War (1933-1936). It revolves around politics.Los Otros is a psychological horror film by Spanish director Alejandro Amenabar that vividly captures the story of a family amid the latter part of the Second World War.
Abre Los Ojos, again by Alejandro Amenabar, is a movie which gives the audience an edgy outlook towards reality. Blended diversely, this motion picture is technically well crafted.
The three motion pictures are all fiction. However, En Construccion is a documentary, directed by Spanish filmmaker Jose Luis Guerin. It advocates the overlooked impacts of construction on everyone living in that particular neighborhood.
The films were made between 1990 to 2001.
