South Korean embassy launches fundraising for Gen Z movement victims

Leading the Korean community in Nepal, the embassy expressed deep condolences for the lives lost and injuries suffered, remembering their sacrifices.

KATHMANDU, Oct 14: The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Kathmandu held a solemn memorial on October 11, 2025, honouring those affected by the Gen Z movement of September 8–9. Leading the Korean community in Nepal, the embassy expressed deep condolences for the lives lost and injuries suffered, remembering their sacrifices.



The event also launched a fundraising drive to support medical treatment for the injured, with Korean entrepreneurs and community members contributing generously.

Korean cuisine was served to encourage donations. Ambassador Park Tae-young highlighted Korea’s longstanding friendship with Nepal, pledging support for disaster relief and reconstruction, and applauding Nepali citizens and the government for upholding democratic processes.


Since establishing diplomatic ties in 1974, the Republic of Korea and Nepal have cultivated warm relations, experiencing steady growth in exchanges and mutual cooperation across various sectors.
