Souls of My City: All praises for Radhe

Mina Baidya feels a divine force entering her body as the priests, and the devotees amass for the evening arati at the Pashupati Ghat. As the hymns amplify through the massive JBL speakers, she performs the strenuous Tandav Stotram – a dance recital dedicated to Lord Shiva. She says, “All my sorrows disappear when I perform the Tandav; I feel happy from the inside.”

She says, “All my sorrows disappear when I perform the Tandav; I feel happy from the inside.” According to Mina, she’s been attending the arati for the past four years and performs with equal zeal every evening. Baidya is also known by the name of Radhe by her fellow devotees as she has equal devotion toward Vaishnavism.
