According to the company, Xperia Z is a 5-inch full HD phone that supports 1080p display. It uses Android Jellybean 4.1 operating system and is powered by Snapdragon S4 Pro Quad-Core processor. The phone uses 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal memory.[break]
Equipped with 13 mega pixels main camera and 2 mega pixels front camera, with geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection and image stabilization features, the phone is the first to have HDR video shooting mode, Nepal Hima said in a statement.
Rajesh Tuladhar, executive director of the company, said Sony has made Xperia Z water and dust proof, keeping in view the world report which shows that nine mobile out of 10 are damaged by water.
The phone supports 4G LTE connectivity and has one-touch function which enables users to easily share music, photos and videos from their smartphone to an array of Near Field Communications (NFC) enabled Sony devices and even connect to the remote control of a Bravia television in a single tap.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Masaki Matsumae, South East Asia Head, Channel and Account Management of Sony, said the phone has been receiving overwhelming response from customers all over the world. “Many Nepali customers have been eagerly enquiring about the phone. We are hopeful that the phone will be successful in Nepal like in other parts of the world,” said Matsumae.
The company has fixed the price of the phone at Rs 67,000.
Nepal Hima has also launched other phones and tablets in the Xperia series. The company launched Xperia J, Xperia Go, Xperia Edual and Xperia E smartphones and a 10.1 inch tablet Xperia Z. Xperia J, Go, Edual and E costs Rs 25,000, Rs 24,500, Rs 17,500 and Rs 15,500, respectively.
All the phones will be available in the market from Tuesday.
