Solar pumping for drinking water bring cheers to locals

TANAHUN, Dec 4: Women belonging to Dalit and Newar community in Gajarkot-8 have been freed from the hardship of fetching drinking water from distant sources when solar pumping was successful in lifting water from well.



The solar pumping drinking water scheme has been successfully accomplished in the settlements lacking electricity service and water sources. [break]



The Regional Renewable Service Centre, Society for Rural Empowerment of the Alternative Energy Promotion Centre had launched two solar pumping drinking water projects at Gajarkot-8.



Society Chairperson Sarita Gurung said the drinking water project based on solar pumping technology was executed focusing on women who were compelled to bring water from far areas.
