KATHMANDU, Oct 18: There is a possibility of snowfall in the high hills and mountainous areas of the country today. 

The Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology said that there is currently an influence of the western winds in Nepal.

According to the MFD, there has been partial to normal rain in the hilly areas of the country since this morning, while the weather has been clear in the rest of the country.

The weather will be generally clear in the hilly areas of the country and partly cloudy in the rest of the country this afternoon. There are chances of light rain with thunder/lightning at one or two places in the hilly areas of the country. There is a possibility of light snowfall in one or two places in the high hills and mountainous regions of the country.

The weather will be partly cloudy in the rest of the country tonight. MFD officials said that there is a possibility of light rain with thunder/lightning at one or two places in the hilly areas of the country.

The MFD has requested everyone to take necessary precautions as there is a possibility of light rain with thunder/lightning at one or two places in the mountainous areas of the country and light snowfall at a few places in the high hills and mountainous regions.
