Snakebite cases up in flood-hit area

RAJBIRAJ, July 12: The snakebite cases have abruptly increased in flood affected areas of Saptari district. 


During the period of past two weeks, more than three dozens of snake-stung people were admitted to Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmatha Hospital in Rajbiraj, it is learnt. 

Local people here are living a fearful life with sudden rise in the presence of snakes in the flood affected areas.

At a time when they were facing tough time with the flood water sneaking into their houses the rise in the snakes and the incidents of snakebite has increased their woes of late. 

Daily 10-15 patients of snakebite are visiting the hospital for treatment, according to the hospital sources. 


Besides snakebites, the patients of fever, diarrhea and common cold are also on the rise in flood-affected areas. RSS
