Small hydro developers meet PM

KATHMANDU, June 26: A delegation of the Small Hydropower Developers´ Association of Nepal (SHDAN) met Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal Friday and put forth a 10-point demand.



They have sought income tax and VAT exemption, VAT exemption for transport of building materials and only 1percent customs duty. The delegation asked the PM to enforce the supremacy of the Electricity Act and expedite infrastructure development like the building of transmission lines on time.



Earlier, the delegation met Energy Minister Dr Prakash Saran Mahat and presented him their demand letter.



SHDAN requested the government to include issues confronting small hydro developers in the upcoming budget and finance bill.
