TIKAPUR, July 17; Satti Small Customs Office (SCO) of Kailali district has collected revenue of Rs 21.3 million in the fiscal year 2016/17 that ended on July 15.
Tek Raj Joshi, a non-gazetted officer at the SCO, said that the amount was a slight increment in comparison to that of the last year. The office had collected Rs 20.4 million as revenue in the fiscal year 2015/16.
According to Joshi, expected revenue could not be collected last year as heavy rainfall in monsoon hampered the official process. He said only Rs 960,000 was collected from June 15 to July 15.
Similarly, Tikapur Municipality in the district has collected more revenue than the target, from Tikapur Park. The revenue collected was Rs 4.5 million against the target of Rs 4 million.
Chief of the municipality, Arjun Kunwar said that proper fencing of the park will help increase the revenues.
