"I am happy that we achieved victory in my 100th match. I knew I was playing my 100th match but was unaware that I also claimed my 100th wicket today," said the 26-year old. [break]Khadka, who claimed two wickets on Tuesday, reached the 100-wicket milestone when he dismissed Mohamed Rishwan. "Rather than focusing on my 100th cap, I was more focused on winning the tournament," said Khadka.
Khadka also became the third player after former captain Binod Das and Shakti Gauchan to win 100 caps for the Nepal.
Khadka, who made his national team debut in a three-day match against Malaysia during the Intercontinental Cup in 2004, said he had never imagined that he would reach this far. "Ever since I started playing for the national team nine years ago, I had never imagined that I would reach here. I have reached this level by playing continuously," said Khadka.
In 2004, Khadka had donned the national jersey for the first time in a one-day match during the ACC Trophy. Khadka is also among the players to have played all 28 T20 matches for the national team since Nepal made its debut in the short format of the game in 2007.
"I don´t know how long I will play, but I will continue as long as I can perform well," said Khadka, who has led the national team since the ACC T20 held in the UAE in 2009. Khadka has also played 26 matches in U-19 and five in U-17 age group categories.
Under Khadka´s captaincy, Nepal has played 54 matches, of which Nepal has won 37. Among 30 matches played under his captaincy in the one-day format, Nepal has won 24 while one ended in a tie. Five months ago, Nepal had finished joint winner of the ACC Trophy Elite along with the UAE following a tie. The title was the biggest achievement of Nepali cricket team.
Khadka, however, opines that he still has a lot to contribute to the team and that his best is yet to come. "I am yet to play my best innings. Until Nepal reaches Division 1, I cannot say that I have contributed a lot."
