KATHMANDU, Jan 9: As many as 19 Nepali citizens who were being held hostage in Malaysia have been successfully rescued. Six of them will be returning home on Tuesday.
On Monday, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal directed the Chief Secretary Shankardas Bairagi to assess the situation of the Nepali hostages and any other related issues, and to take immediate action to secure their release and rescue.

According to the information provided by the Nepali Embassy in Malaysia to the Prime Minister's Office, food and lodging arrangements have been made for all the 19 workers in a hotel in Malaysia at the expense of the manpower company which had sent them to Malaysia.
At the initiative of the embassy, six of them are going to return to Nepal tomorrow and 7 on January 13.
Likewise, the Prime Minister's Secretariat said that efforts are also being made to solve the problems of 28 Nepali workers who are in trouble in another company in Malaysia.
