Sita Air starts Kathmandu-Dang commercial flights from today

KATHMANDU, Feb 15: Sita Airlines has started commercial flights from Tarigaon Airport in Dang from today.


Gyanendra Bhul, information officer of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, said that the airlines, which conducted a test flight in January, has obtained permission to operate three flights a week. Sita Airlines will fly on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

“Before this, Nepal Airlines Corporation was flying regularly to this destination. Now, private airlines are also going to provide regular flight services to this destination," Information Officer Bhul said. "It is seen that the passenger service will expand further after Sita Airlines starts flying."


Currently, Nepal Airlines Corporation has been flying to this destination on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays through a 19-seater TwinOtter aircraft.


According to the CAAN, the one-way fare for this destination flight is Rs 5,865.


The airport, which has been in operation since 1961, has a length of 750 meters and a width of 30 meters. This airport has the capacity to take off and land a series of aircraft including Dornier, TwinOtter. Sita Airlines will fly in a Dornier aircraft.
