KATHMANDU, June 25: Chairman and Managing Director of Kantipur Publications Kailash Sirohiya called on Indian Ambassador Rakesh Sood on Friday to discuss the holding up of the newsprint imported by the publications at Kolkata port.

According to a statement issued by the Indian Embassy, the ambassador informed Sirohiya that the embassy had already taken steps to try and resolve the issue based on the request made by the media house. The statement added, “… had undue publicity to a routine administrative matter not been given, the mater could have been resolved earlier.”

The statement further added that Sirohiya has “assured full cooperation on the part of Kantipur Publications in order to enable resolution of the matter at the earliest”.
