KATHMANDU, Sept 7: Sipradi Sahayata Sanstha has sponsored two cricketers Arif Sheikh and Sunil Dhamala for the period of two years. The Sanstha part of the Sipradi Trading Pvt Limited.
As per the agreement the two cricketers will be provided Rs 20,000 each per month for two years. The two cricketers are members of the U-19 team.
Shambhu Prasad Dahal, director of Sipradi Trading and the players signed agreement papers amid a function organized in Kathmandu on Wednesday.
Cricket Players Association of Nepal (CPAN) had taken initiatives for the sponsorship.
Speaking at the function, Director Dahal said that the cricketers are sponsored as part of Sanstha's objective to make contribution to the social and educational sector in the country. “We had been supporting the education sector. This time we have chosen cricketers as cricket is a much-loved sport in the country and Nepal's performance has been very good,” Dahal said.

Dahal also informed that Sipradi will sponsor kits and playing instruments for the two players in the future. “Players' performance on the pitch in future will determine how far the sponsorship goes,” Dahal added.
Both players expressed their happiness after signing the sponsorship agreement. “I am very thankful to Sipradi as it has sponsored young players like us. I want to thank Sipradi on the behalf of the U-19 team,” said Dhamala, a batsman of Nepal's U19 team.
Aarif Sheikh said a player can play freely and confidently with such sponsorship as it helps player financially.
“Sponsorship makes us strong and contributes to play freely for the team as we need not worry about our financial condition,” Aarif said.
Paras Khadka, national team captain and general secretary of CPAN said that such sponsorship motivates players. “It motivates not only the sponsored players but also other players to perform better,” Paras said. “We want to thank Sipradi for accepting our proposal. We have submitted proposals to other companies as well to sponsor other cricketers,” said national team captain.
